As we've discussed before, making the switch from snowboarding to skiing this season has been a great one. I love the easy mobility and speed that comes with skiing and feel good about the progression I've made. I'm also fairly certain I look badass in my ski gear (I'm talking sweet skis and excellent boots). The one part of my ski bunny outfit that isn't quite up to par with the rest of my outfit though is my poles. The bf gave me a pair of old, rental poles when I made the skiing switch, and although they aren't the prettiest on the eyes, they were the best kind of price (free), so a girl's not gonna complain.
This past weekend though, I finally got around to upgrading my sad, little poles into something spectacular. I found neon pink duct tape on sale for only $1 and knew it was fate. The DIY was simple. I started by ripping the duct tape in half on the role. Then I wrapped it diagonally down the pole, making sure the width was the same in between throughout. It only took about 10 minutes and totally transformed my poles into something new, fresh and fun. If you have tired poles too, I highly recommend this DIY. Go grab some duct tape in the color of your choice and have fun!

Springing Forward
Although it's definitely still winter here in the Rocky Mountains, the sunny, bluebird days we've been experiencing have me dreaming of Spring. Yesterday was a sunny 32 degrees and today the high is near 40 (woohoo, no snow boots for me!). So in honor of the blue sky, sunshine and warm temps, floral, pink and boyfriend jeans are necessary.
The blouse is a Gap Outlet original that has flowers and polka dots on it, score. I love this Lauren Conrad blazer from Kohl's (which in case you didn't know, IS cool). The blush color is an unexpected neutral that goes with everything and has been worn on repeat since I bought it. The boyfriend jeans are from The Gap and will, fa sho, continue to be on heavy rotation in the coming months, perhaps inspired by outfits like this, this and this. Finally, the shoes are favorites of mine from none other than the Clarks store, encompassing all my necessary shoe requirements: cute, comfy and classic.

Winter Hiking: Barney Ford Trail
Living in a ski town, I am spoiled by my surroundings. If the weather conditions aren't exactly to my liking, I often turn my nose at the outdoors. No snow? No ski for me. No sun? Nothing sounds fun. However, even on the coldest days, in the crappiest conditions, I ALWAYS feel better when I'm being active. Thus, I've made a vow to do something outside every day for the rest of the winter. Whether I ski, hike or just walk the dog to the park, I will get myself outside.
